Tasks in Pissouri

As part of the DIGISC project preparation activities, participants took part in an interactive village exploration in Pissouri during the first day of the Youth Exchange, on Saturday afternoon, 28 March.

This activity was designed as a team-based discovery challenge, encouraging participants to explore the village while engaging with its cultural, historical, and social elements. Working in groups, participants completed a series of tasks that required observation, communication with locals, critical thinking, and creativity.

Pissouri, recognized as one of the Best Tourism Villages 2024, provided the ideal setting for this experiential learning activity, combining tradition, sustainability, and community life.

Through this activity, participants:

Explored key landmarks such as the village square, amphitheater, viewpoints, and cultural sites
Interacted with local community members, strengthening intercultural dialogue
Developed teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills
Documented their experience through photos and reflections

The activity also contributed to the objectives of DIGISC by promoting active participation, local engagement, and experiential learning while helping participants better understand how communities like Pissouri integrate culture, tourism, and sustainability.

Overall, this first-day activity created a dynamic and inclusive environment, setting the foundation for collaboration, creativity, and meaningful learning throughout the project. All the tasks that participants done are here in this page

The Communal Amphitheater of Pissouri is a new amphitheater with old design (coming from ancient theaters); find it and find the place where you can talk and be heard from everywhere. Take a photo of this place with your group in it. (If the amphitheater is closed you can take a photo at the entrance)

Super close to the fountain is one of the few markets in central Pissouri. The owner enjoys when visitors come to Pissouri from Erasmus, what is his name? Take a group photo with him!

There is a vast point of view in the village. Where is it? Can you find it? Next to this point of view there is one of the best cafeterias in the whole area of Limassol County. Pissouri is growing and there are a lot of restaurants. In Pissouri square there is a restaurant named VRAKAS. What does that mean? How is this restaurant relying on the history and traditions of Cyprus? Bonus points if you get a picture with the name of the restaurant in the background or one of the owners!

Pissouri, in the last 40 years, started becoming a touristic place. There is an Inn and restaurant which it was the first opened from the beginning of the touristic period in Pissouri. In Pissouri square there are 2 Monuments in the village. Can you also find the reason for the monuments? Where is it? Who was it and what has he done to have a monument in Pissouri village? Take a photo with either of them!

It was very beautiful village, we were inpressed with the views and buildings.
feels like a hidden gem—not overly touristy, but still polished enough to be comfortable. It offers a mix of traditional village charm and relaxed coastal living.
Walking through Pissouri felt like discovering a hidden treasure. The village is small and easy to explore on foot, but every corner seemed to hold something new and beautiful. The quest-style tour made it even more exciting, turning our walk into a fun treasure hunt full of little surprises. What stood out the most was the kindness of the people—everyone was welcoming and ready to help with a smile. Combined with the stunning views and peaceful atmosphere, it made the whole experience truly memorable.
